Camara charger not working

Hi. We bought a camera 08/10/2013 on special. Today we wanted to charge the battery only to realize that the charger is not working. we went to exchange the charger as it is less than a week old. and on the slip it say 1 year warranty. On arrival at the store today we were informed that they knew there were faulty chargers and that is why it was on sale. we the buyers were never informed of this. Now they do not want to exchange the product and told us to go to the flea market and buy a new charger. is this their service to sell faulty equipment and offer zero sales support? Or were they just lazy or zero tolerance for clients after they make their commission?
