NON PROFESSIONALISM AND UNACCEPTABLE BAD SERVICE

I went to House and Homes at Prospecton on Sunday 6/10/13 to buy a washing machine. Mervin (who i subsequently discovered was from Carpets Division) attended to me and concluded a sale with me for a 13kg samsung toploader. He said there were 2 in stock on the system. I could not pay with my credit card because the lines were down. I booked the machine with a R100 deposit and said i would come in on 7/10/13 to pay. Mervin phoned on Sunday afternoon and told me there was no stock! I was busy on Monday and did not go to the shop. Mervin phones on Tuesday and tells me the one on the floor is damaged. He offers me a machine for R3800. I refused because the Samsung cost R2900. This is extremely upsetting. Store personnel dont seem to know their job and asked me what i would like to do. You dont promise and then renege and ask the customer to fork out more money. The store should have had competent people managing stocks and more so, competent sales personnel and a hands on updated stock system so as not to inconvenience customers to go back and forth on forlorn promises from sales staff. Extremely upset with the store personnel, i asked for a refund of the deposit.
