Why not follow you inhome standard

Today i visited the store at orange grove. a customer could not understand why was he charged more then the advertised tag on the shelve. I advised him that the policy of pick and pay was to give the item free of charge if this took place. the manager argued that this policy was applicable only to pick and pay brand which is untrue. when i confronted him verbally on his failure to follow the well known policy he started saying that i had insulted him when i said what he was say was nonsense. then this person decided to lay his hand on me which was stopped by in house security which could have turned into an ugly scene. since when is the staff of pick and pay allowed to physically assault a customer?
