Embarressed by a Consultant

I went into the store to go and exchange a pair of Kelso jeans (which I only buy from edgards as they offer a "tall" range). The exchange period had long passed (which I knew) as i bought the item last year March. The consultant didnt even try to listen to what I was saying which was that they had the same pair of jeans and were still selling it at the same price and I really just wanted to find out if they'll allow me to do the exchange. The consultant instead embarrassed me and was very rude. Her response was this "Are you kidding, last year March, you can't really expect this to be changed" and before I could say anything she handed me back the slip and called for the next customer.
