When I asked her what she was doing, she said that I am being charged with??? I tried to explain to her that it was an honest mistake and that the money to pay for it was in my wallet. This didn't seem to faze her at all and I then requested to speak to one of the manager's but my request too, fell on deaf ears and I was treated like some common criminal. In fact, it was then that she instructed the 2nd security guard to handcuff me to the chair... handcuff me to the chair!!! Which by the way, actually hurt my wrist but my request to at least loosen them a little... was also just ignored. A point to note here is that I remained calm and did not put up a fight at all... simply because if I had put up a fight, it would have got me nowhere & would have just delayed things further and I still had to go pick up my daughter's birthday cake.
I was then picked up by the police whist leaving my car with groceries in the parking lot. I subsequently had to pay a fine and was released about an hour later because there was no way I was going to spend the night in a cell & stay out of work to have to go court for something so stupid.
