To get hold of the Consumer Council in South Africa is basically impossible. You phone a number like 086 124 2000, tell them your entire story which they actually are prepared to listen too and then give you the following number. So you phone 086 0000 272 and again you do repeat your whole story and do receive another phone number to dial. So know you are back where you actually started by looking on the website and phoned 012 940 4500, this number can be removed or de-activated as there is NOBODY to answer this line - it is non-existing. Then you will find an email adress complaints@thedti.gov.za and you write your entire complaint, but this disappears in ciber space as you will most definitely be ignored. Forget it - nobody can get hold of the Consumer Council as they protect themselves from all consumers and complaints. Should they accept your call, it will mean that they have to work.
