Metro Discounters
Metro discounters not selling goods rack price

Shops, Products, Services

I went to Metro discounter in Springs today to buy some cat food. On the rack was the price of R24, 70 for pack of 12 cans. I checked the discription on the product and the discription on the price tag. They matched. I then called one of the staff members to check it as well. She said that it "seems" to be correct. When I got to the pay point the price they wrung up was R120, 40. I questioned it. One of the staff members came with me to the rack and I showed him. He took it to the manager who said he can not sell it to me at the price indicated on the rack. I insisted they they sell it at the price as indicated. He said that the bar codes are different and they work on the bar codes. Does this now mean that we, the consumer, must not only look to see if the description matches the description on the price tag but also the bar codes? Why bother then to put anything up. Just let the consumer go around and do everything. They can save a lot on labour costs. I will never ever support Metro again and any other company that has this attitude towards their clients. Absolute arogance.
