Security tag on garment not removed

An unpleasant experience I had with Vertigo clothing in Sandton this past Saturday for being told I was unable to return a jersey I had bought for my partner despite the fact that he could not wear it as they did not remove the security tag. I was told I had to bring it back within 10 days and tried to explain to the store manager I do not stay close and was only able to go the mall this past weekend. What is really disturbing is despite the many purchases I have made from that store that even the store manager recognises me, they saw no fault on their part for leaving the security tag on the garment. How was my partner supposed to wear the jersey? Even though the size was a bit big, he had decided he will keep it anyway but it was of no use to him with the tag still on! Really disappointed I was told there was nothing they could do and more offended that they saw nothing wrong with leaving the security tag on. I don't not stay close to the mall else I would have obviously come sooner, but they were still at fault to give me a garment that still had the security tag and cause me the inconvenience, my time and petrol for having to make a second visit and still deny me an exchange.
