Refused to Exchange a new Item- very dissapointed

Hi

I went to Truworths in Fourways mall, got a gift from a Friend it still had a tag on it and hasnt been worn, i went to exchange for a smaller size or something to that amount when i asked to exchanged it i was told i can't exchanged because they need a reciept, i mean where do i find reciept is this was a gift. i havent worn it n it still has a tag on it, i would have understood if i took out the tag or lost it however i don t see why was it difficult for them to just exchange as they could see the garment was still new and not been worn.

The manager did not even try to understand or see how the garment was he just stood there and told me there;s nothing e could because that's how they operate so i want to know what do i do with the gift i got and i could ever wear it because it does not fit, is unprofessional and truly irritating because i love the top but i cant wear it as it's not my size.
