Overcharging

Jet recently contacted me to say i hadn't paid my account since 2007! I was under administration so i had attorney's paying my accounts including Jet since 2009. When i came out from under admin late last year, the attorneys said i owe Jet R2000 which i wanted to pay, but Jet says i owe them almost R5000 and they said the account hasn't been paid since 2007. Just strange why they never contacted me whilst i was under admin, but now that they have been notified that i am no longer under admin they now contact me and expect me to pay double the amount owed. They are not even willing to investigate, and are threatening to hand me over to the lawyers. I really don't know what to do anymore, think it is unfair to do this to people. Please help.
