Reqeusted refund after receiving damaged goods

Bought a bicycle at the Attebury branch on Saturday 6 July, after closer inspection at home it was found that the bicycle had significant damage to it. Took it back for an exchange, there was no similar product to exchange it with. I was promised that a bicycle in satisfactory condition will the delivered to my home the following Wednesday. This did not happen nor was I contacted in this regard. I phoned the branch on 15 July in this regard and was told that a bicycle in a new condition can not be found thus I requested a refund. The process of a refund is lengthy and requires excessive documentation like stamped bank statements. It has been 3 days since this request and have not received my money back. The stories of the manager and staff does not correspond in any regard.
