Ridiculous security procedures for card

My bag was on 6th June so I called up to let Truworths know to block my account and issue a new card. I was told I would be asked a password everytime I wanted to purchase something and set this up with them over the phone. I informed them that my ID had also been. I received my new card within 2 weeks and used it, along with my passport and head office was phoned for the password, problem solved. The next time I tried to use my card I was told they had to phone and that I had to have my passport on me again. Apparently I have to do this EVERYTIME! When I phoned to find out when the block on my account will be lifted, they said when I get my new ID. I finally established that I will be asked for my ID for 6 months everytime I purchased. This is a ridiculous sytem - why not just reissue another card with a different number? Or do a security check in store? I don't have 20 mins everytime to wait while you call and hold up a queue. Truworths are not looking after their customers, just themselves. Tempted to close my account because I'm just frustrated.
