I went to Pick n Pay Hyper in Ottery, to go exchange the washing powder which I purchased yesterday. (incorrectly, typical male). While I was in the aisle, one of the packers brought to my attention, that if I buy the Omo washing powder, I will get fabric softener 'free'. So this I naturally did (who can resist a freebie). When I got to the till, the cashier, Kauther, said that I must pay for the 'free' item as their tills are set-up automatically for 'specials'. I explained that the packer in the aisle, pointed out that its free and also there was a sign stating this as well. She called her supervisor over, who informed me that the special ended yesterday. I said that's fine but why is it still advertised and why don't your staff know that, that special is over, within two minutes she came backing saying that because the sign was up, I could indeed get it for free. Thank you to Kauther and her supervisor for handling the situation in a very polite and pleasant manner. And just for the record, I did tell them its not an issue if I must pay for it, its just that its still been advertised as 'free'.
