Pathetic attitude from staff!

I went to the store to buy a few necessities. I got to the till and asked the cashier for a carton of cigarettes. She asked one of the bag packers to get the cigarettes, the bag packer ignored her and she just sat there doing nothing, obviously waiting for the cigarettes to magically fall out of the sky. I told her to ring up the other stuff so I could leave as I needed to get back to work. She rang it up, I paid and then asked her where the bag was. She said it was too late she had already rung the stuff up and had not included a bag. I asked her where the manager was, she said - in the office. I asked her to get him. She told me - he's in the office. I took my stuff, walked to the office, no manager! I walked back to the till and again asked for the manager. Again I got the response - in the office. I told her there is no one in the office, please go get the manager, she just ignored me. I left and went to the competitor, Spar Queenswood, where I am guaranteed great service every time I go there! I bought my cigarettes and a shopping bag and was served with a smile. Why are the staff at Shoprite so incompetent and down right rude? How hard is it to train your staff???
