Le Creuset
Kettle flaking & rusting inside

Shops, Products, Services

Bought cone shaped kettle just over a year ago. When I washed it, I knocked it against the side of the wash basin. A chunk of paint split of the outside, which I can understand. Problem is though on the inside of the kettle there is also a piece of paint that came off. Inside paint is now flaking and you keep on getting paint bits in your coffee or tea. I took it back to the shop where I bought it, asking them if they can repair it as the inside paint should not flake off - I am willing to pay for it as I cannot use the kettle at all. They said Le Creuset is not repairable at all, we would have to buy a new kettle, they are willing to give me 35% discount. I am not happy at all as firstly, they do not stock the cone shape kettle anymore and secondly I bought the brand as I thought I was paying for quality! I understand I knocked the kettle, but the enamel should not chip that easily, and surely not on the inside! Also this does not explain the flakes coming of the inside of the kettle! Product definately not living up to my expectations! We have pots and pans from Le Creuset which is brilliant, but I would strongly advise people to stay away from kettles and cups.
