I bought a Morphy Richards kettle 3 years ago at a price of R760.00 (Not a cheap kettle). The plastic & gause part of the kettle has worn which is the mechanism to switch the kettle off once it boils. As this is worn and wont switch the kettle off, I went to Hirch's months ago to get a part. Alvina proceeded to tell me that they cannot supply the part so will give me a new kettle but have no stock. Every month I phoned her and she kept telling me there is no stock yet. Last Friday 3/01/2014 I personally went in to see them. Alvina was on leave and Byron helped me and proceeded to tell me they have no part. I said to him that Alvina said they would give me a new kettle. He then went to the Manager to query this and she then told me that they cant give me a new kettle as its now out of Warranty. I said that's fine as the kettle works but please can I have this required part. The Manager told me she would personally phone me on Saturday to give me feed back as to why Alvina promised a kettle... I am still waiting for her call and Byron promised that he would phone me on Monday 06/01/2014 with regards to the part... I am still waiting for his call. PATHETIC to say the least!
