Shoprite
Paraffin is R7/L!

The current price of Paraffin in the RSA is about R7 - 9/L. On the 19/ 05/ 2013 I needed some paraffin urgently and slipped into the nearest store likely to stock paraffin at minutes to 14h00 (Closing time). This happened to be Shoprite in Lyttelton. Imagine my shock and horror, when the only paraffin to be had on the shelves was a 750ml bottle for R24.99!

Now I can drive to another hardware store, or delay my purchase to another, day, but there are people in this country whose lives revolve much more closely around paraffin as an essential fuel. And then Shoprite goes and sells 750ml at R24.99, when a liter should cost no more than R9, 00 at the most!

I find that scandalous, besides not taking the trouble to acknowledge or respond to my directly addressed complaint.
