Disgusting late night service

I just received the most disgusting service at this store. As a working father sometimes it is hard to get to shops during 'conventional' hours, so I thought it was great that my closest Pick n Pay is open till 9pm. Tonight however I discovered this to be much farther from the truth. Upon entering the store at 8:50pm I found the bakery and deli were all but packed up so I was not able to make any purchases from these departments and the butchery meat was covered with a plastic sheet making it impossible to view any meat products. I grabbed the few items I could and headed towards the tills. The one till that was open was serving all the staff as they made their purchases. When attempting to pay for my goods I was informed that the systems were offline and they could not process my card. No effort was made to try and assist me to make a payment.
As some one who used to work in retail, I find this lack of concern for a paying customers needs completely unacceptable and I will no longer shop at this store. In future I will go to Checkers, who are more then willing to assist me close to closing time.
