Prejudice Gift

Today I received a free gift from Clicks Baby Club. It read "You have qualified for your FREE Clicks BabyClub Goodie Bag filled with treats for you and your little one. It's waiting for you in store right now! " I headed over to my closest store and collected the bag. Much to my disappointment, there was nothing in it for me. I'm a married gay man, with an adopted baby. I'm sure Clicks knows that I am a male as my Club Card Account details clearly states so. There is nothing I can do with Marterna Centrum, Nipple Cream, Breast Pads and Stretch Mark Lotion.

I know one does not complain when receiving gifts for free, but why are there companies out their that still have this prejudice notion that only straight couples have kids. As a gay parent we are totally overlooked by such promotions. Why not fill the bag with things for the baby and things both parents regardless of their sex can use. Really disappointed and a bit offended.

Move on, grow from this. I am sure I am not the only one who has encountered this. And I don't even want to mention how prejudice the promotional material is in the bag. I hope that Clicks can take something away from this.
