Absolute frustration

Shops, Products, Services

On 11 or 12 April 2013, I bought a Safeway micro hi-fi clock radio as a gift for someone living in rural Limpopo who has no radio reception and thus relies on cd's and dvd's as entertainment and contact with the 'outside' world.

It was broken. Wouldn't play any cd's and the lights of the clock radio was faulty.

It cost me to go back to Limpopo on 15 April 2013, get the radio and exchange the radio in Pretoria where I bought it. Tested it in the shop, as I didn't want any nasty surprises again. The staff was very helpful. I took it back to Limpopo and it worked for about 3 weeks. Again, it started - when playing a cd, it jumps around and again is broken. (the gift was given to two old people, so it is definitely not playing the whole day OR being mishandled in any way)

I again had to go to Limpopo to fetch it, as there is no Clicks store close to where they stay.

I will again be taking it back to the shop where I bought it, but would like to know what stands me to do if the next one ALSO breaks!? My R 299 gift has already turned out to be a R 1 299 gift. I have never had any problems with any Safeway products I had bought.

Can someone please assist me with this issue??
