PSP DAMAGED

I'm a very angry & upset customer, I purchased a PSP as a chrismas gift for hust last year 22nd Dec 2013, I was told by the salesman that I must keep my reciecpt if anything should happen, that's my worrenty, The psp cracked on the 5th May 2013 has no idea wat happened all I knw is when my husband took it oFf from the charger & he put it on it was cracked, we went to game asap & spoke to a manager by the name of Adam who adv that the agent. Can't tell what exacltly happened they do not want to open the unit but can offer me a refurbish one for R684 why should I pay for that if the error was not mine, then he tells me that I'm no longer under worreny cause my screen cracked I was not given that info when I purchased the uinte why must settle for a refurbish unit when I'm not @ fault, I was misinformed & to when I purchased this unit
