Pick 'n Pay
Closing time a nightmare

Shops, Products, Services

I have tried to contact Pick n Pay directly with no response, so I am now making my complaint public. I had another very unpleasant experience at a pack n pay store.

It is not one which I normally frequent - it was on a Sat afternoon - I went in at about 3:45, I did not know it closed at 4, the one I use closes quite a bit later. At 4 o clock having done about a quarter of my shop, a voice came over the speaker to say the shop was now closed and we should please make our way to a till to pay. The floor flooded with people rearranging shelves, the flaps were lowered on all the fridges and staff started leaving the store - I cant remember the last time I felt so unwelcome in a shop. As a customer I was

a) Given no real warning
b) Not allowed the opportunity to complete my shopping
c) And hustled out in the fastest possible way

I have to say I was shocked! How is it possible that your closing time to the public coincides with the time the staff knock off? Surely it makes more sense to allow at least a half an hour from letting people into the store to packing up and letting staff go?
It seems that these days staff are more important than customers...?
