Paying for an Item I have never used due to Defect

I am sending you this email out of deep regret of ever affiliating myself with House and Home.
My name is Marilese Reid (Ref. no: 6446/640565/01) and I entered into an agreement with House and Home, Parow Centre, on 23 February 2013. As the Item was a gift I only handed it to my friend on the 13th of March 2013. The "Tablet" subsequently did not accept any sim cards from any network. We then reported the problem to House and Home, Parow Centre, on 16 March 2013. I was told on this day that the "Tablet" will be sent away for repairs, but I was not in favour of this as I am not willing to pay for a second hand item. On his word I left the item at the store.
After 2 weeks (30 March 2013) I then returned to the store in question and the sales person informed me that the "Tablet" was still in store as they had no one to take the item to SAMSUNG. I was not happy with this tardy service and was calmed when he stated that he will expedite the situation and keep me posted.
I never received any communication from the store for that week (1-5 April 2013) and decided to go to them on Saturday 6 April 2013. Here I was met by Jean-Paul, the Assistant store manage
