I'm really not sure how to express my shock and embarrassment I experienced at Edgars Vaal Mall. On Monday (29th/4/13) just before 6pm I went to into the store, and wanted to buy Gift card for my friend who is in Pietermaritzburg. The lady whom I think she is Credit Controller tried to help me but field to complete the transaction due to the fact that we or I couldn't locate the exact Edgars where this gift will be collected. We then agreed that I should go and ask a friend about the name of Edgars store she can easily collect the card from. As now the matter was going to be delayed a bit, I decided to send money instead. The following day I went back to the store to cancel the gift card, that's when I shocked to hear that I won't be able to return it because the store system doesn't allow reversals. I then requested them to close my account, they also refused saying I should pay R1000 first. They told me I owe them that amount and I rather forget closing my account before paying the amount. They have that gift card and still claim I owe R1000 for it. They also told me whether I use or do not the Gift card, I still have to pay for it. To me this is nonsense.
