Tele-contract presentation

I was referred to Tracker by my previous insurance company and was under the impression that cancelation of the insurance policy implied cancellation of the Tracker contract too. When I changed insurance companies I tried to cancel my contract with Tracker upon which I was told that the terms and conditions stipulate a minimum of 3 year contract. Cancellation would thus be in breach of contract and will attract a penalty of at least half the contract fee. I disputed this and I was referred to a 15 min conversation in which the 3 year clause was mentioned once and in passing as if to hide it. That is a pathetic excuse of a legal binding clause in a contract. They are prying on unsuspecting clients and taking full advantage of this illicit clause. This is very unfair. They should at least emphasize to clients that they are binding themselves to Tracker for 3 years. Business is about being transparent and honest not about hiding clauses behind a voice that goes on and on about non-issues at the expense of the important clauses. I am utterly disgusted.
