DO NOT TRUST ADT SECURITY!

I contracted ADT on 26 June 2013 to secure my rental house at night, after a burgerly the previous evening. The officer who assisted me with the contract, accompanied me the house the afternoon of 26 June to verify the damages and assured me to be in "'safe hands". The morning of 27 June the electrician I appointed to repair the damages, phoned me to report a 2nd burgerly the previous night. I contacted ADT who sent 3 guards to investigate. The ADT guards, electrician, his 2 workmen and myself agreed that there was much more damage done during the 2nd break-in and that it happened during the night (a torch was left behind and used matches was all over the house). The ADT guards discovered an empty wine bottle in an out building and suggested that their guard on duty may have been drinking and passed out. ADT appointed a Mr Barnard to investigate the case. He only interviewed the officer of ADT and did not even talk to the electrician or his 2 workmen. In his report he doubted the 2nd break-in! ADT stood by that report and refused to communicate any further. The insurance company refused to pay the damage, becuase the house was empty during our renovations. I had to pay R13914.27!!
