I had a Tracker in my previous car which was out of contract. I bought a new car and wanted the tracking unit transferred but the Tracker call centre agent told me I would incur a cost of R1500 but that I could opt for a new contract at a subscription fee of only R179. I then opted for that and informed the operator to remove my old vehicle from my account on the 30th of October as I took delivery of my new vehicle on the 29th. I was then charged R412.60 on the 1st of November. I read on the website that it can take up to 15 days for changes to take effect and I thought that I would probably be reimbursed on the 1st of December. However, on the 1st of December I was then charged another R385.84. I phoned the call centre and the agent said that they would refund me the R206 that I was overcharged but that I was liable for the previous month's amount because they require 30 days notice of cancellation. I feel that I am being treated unfairly because I opted to take a new contract with them and now they say that I cancelled the other contract and I had to pay a month's subscription for a car which was not in my possession anymore nor did it have their tracking device in it anymore.
