Feeling very ripped off!!!

On Monday we received an sms from ADT asking us to please check our alarm system. On doing so, they told us that although the alarm was going off, they were not receiving any signal. There is clearly a problem with the radio. It would cost us R200 for them to send their technician to fix the issue. Here is my problem:

We do not own the radio that is faulty. We rent the radio. Why on earth should I have to pay to fix ADT's equipment! When I spoke to the Call Centre agent, his first response was to say that everyone else pays it. When it became clear that this wasn't going to satisfy me, he said that we have to pay for the fuel for the technicians to come out. Where are they coming from? Rustenburg???

Besides that. I pay a radio fee, an admin fee, a monthly fee, and every time the petrol goes up, ADT ask for more money. They have never put the prices down due to petrol going down though.

I do not understand why I am responsible for fixing ADT's equipment.

I also do not understand why I cannot get somebody with authority at ADT to speak to me even when this matter has supposedly been escalated.
