Overcharged

I received an SMS from ADT informaing me that an amount was outstanding on a old account. I immediately called ADT customer services to query and was told that to ignore it as there was an account error. I asked them to send me a counter SMS to tell me so. I got no SMS just a surprise deduction from my back account. No explanation no reasons. This is a security company that does this. Please explain urgently!!!
