ADT guard shot a dog??

I am an ADT customer and very sad to hear that an ADT guard shot an ADT customer's dog... i dont know both side of the story, but I have 2 friendly and lovable Jack Russell Terriers whom are very dear to me. They are like my kids, and safety locked in the back garden when ADT responds to my alarm, but what if a burglar opened the gate and let my dogs out... how do i know my dogs will be safe once an ADT guard responds to my alarm?? I am an ADT member for 2 reasons:
1. to protect my home and possessions
2. to protect my life and the life of my loves ones: My Pets - My Dogs!

Very sad to read such a news paper article.
