Pick pocketing in movie theatre

Last night my friends and i were pick pocketed of our wallets and mobiles from our handbags DURING the 8PM showing.
An apparent staff member (he had no uniform) was notified to assist us in locating the items but HE STOOD ON THE SIDE and watched while we conducted the search on our own. We asked for his details and to log a complaint. When the manager came out eventually he responded rudely, was not even told what the problem was and who then took his time to fetch 'a torch light' to further investigate the theatre.
With insult to injury we were refused any footage and/or contact information that would assist us in resolving the situation. Our details were noted down on a scrap piece of paper with no attempts to check whether other patrons or security personnel had handed in any of the items.
The experience has left me upset/exasperated by the abruptness of staff and their incompetence.
We were told that these incidents occur constantly at sterkinekor greenstone and yet the public is not notified to
be wary and preventative measures are not in place from future happenings.
Therefore this states to me that Sterkinekor Greenstone has no concern for customer wellbeing.
