DSTV should just step down

I moved house end of February. So, now I need to cancel the subscription on my DSTV. I finally get a chance this morning and call them. I was really suprised, the lady tells me that I must cancel a day before my billing date, which is on 31 March 2013? REALLY!?!?!? so, I explain to her that no one is using the service now, its running for nothing!!!
Then I ask that she rather disconnects it and then cancels it whenever. she says she can disconnect, but not cancel. then later says she'll future date the cancellation but won't be able to disconnect. When I realised that I'd been on my cellphone for 35 minutes, I said my good byes. but I still don't know what happened to my account!!!
What's the use of having a call center when people are not well trained on the product? Isn't that what happens anymore? What happened to Quality Assurance? Where are the supervisors when such people are let out to speak to clients??? Yerrr, n my phone bill is just not cheap!!!
