I have been trying for months now to get a refund from MultiChoice after closing my account with effect of 03 August 2012. At this stage I am quite convinced that further calls to their helpdesk will not help, so this is a last ditch attempt to get my money back.

On the 20th or 23rd July 2012 I used the MutiChoice website email facility to instruct them to close my account. On the 24th July I got a confirmation email from MultiChoice; REFERENCE NUMBER : 106633369 which also said:
"We will also cancel your debit order facility so that no further deductions may occur on your bank account."

They only cancelled the debit order in Dec after I called many many times. I have not been refunded the R 1 288.60 that was deducted after the 24th July. Not to mention the lost interest and compensation for all the time and costs I have spent so far in trying to retrieve this money!

Trying to get my maney back has been incredibly frustrating as they have not once disputed the fact that money was deducted in error, but after many promises ("it will take up to 12 days") they have not kept their word.

I strongly recommend that the debit order facility be avoided at all cost!
