Credit with Multichoice but still disconnected

Hi encountered an incident with Multichoice earlier this year. In June I disconnected my premium service as I was travelling on business. I reconnected the service in September and they have about a month and a bit from the time I disconnected available.

My normal pay cycle is the 10th of each month. Every month I receive a mail on my decoder giving me the payment due, this normally a few days before the 10th. In October I received no mail and assumed they had sufficient funds as im aware they have a credit. On the 12th I was disconnected and received a mail stating I need to R400 (amount included a reconnection fee) I called the call centre as I told them there is a credit, they held my monies for months and had no courtesy to even give me a an amount due before disconnecting. The call centre was adamant that the fault was mine and would not reconnect my service with a reconnection fee, this despite them not even supplying me an amount to pay as they normally do.

I have since disconnected my service which I will not renew with them. I hope more people will stand up to them as they are a monopoly and need some consumer pressure. I still need to check if they have refunded me.
