Nu Metro
Film cancelled

On Monday, my sister and I went to the NuMetro cinema in Hyde Park to see a movie (Behind the Candelabra) at 12.00. At the ticket office we were told that the movie was sold out for a private function - at least four movie posters had a "sold out" sticker over them. Funny that there wasn't a single person waiting to go into any of the 'sold out' movies, so I am convinced it was a blatant lie. When we asked if we could come back on Tuesday we were assured that the movie would be showing. Well, we returned on Tuesday to find the poster now uncovered but were informed by a different salesperson that the movie had been cancelled but was unable to explain why. The 'manager' appeared as another patron was complaining bitterly after having also been along two days in a row to find the movie was not showing. After much arguing, none of us got a truthful response which was very annoying. My sister was visiting from a small town in the Cape which has no cinema, so we decided to go to Hyde Park, but what a waste of time and precious petrol!! We were given two complimentary tickets, but we still want an EXPLANATION! I certainly won't be going back to Nu Metro at Hyde Park.
