Cancelled? Yet still being charged a monthly fee?

Owing to TopTV's service deteriorating over the course of the last year or so, I decided to cancel my subscription on Monday (October 1, 2013).

I phoned the call centre, and after about 45 mins, I managed to speak to a call centre representative. I informed them that I would like to cancel my TopTV subscription. They asked me "why? ". And I informed them that I only watched two or three channels these days, and with Top History getting the boot, I felt that the service no longer held any appeal to me.

They informed me that my service had been cancelled (immediately). I noticed that I no longer received a signal, and that my decoder had been blocked.

This morning however I discovered that TOPTV had DEBITED my account (for this month), which means even though I cancelled my account, (and no longer receives a service), they still decided to charge my account. This is definitely the straw that broke the camel's back. I can only say that I'm absolutely disappointed in TopTV and their dismal customer support. Where I might have still considered re-subscribing down the line (if they improved their selection of channels), but after this event, I'm taking down the dish.
