Making consumers pay for your upgrades

Recreation & Entertainment

My story is as follows. Of recent I find that my dstv channels especially the Mprem Hd channel blotches or the screen distorts when we are watching tv and when I went to the Multichoice office in Umhlanga (Durban) I was told that because they have decided to show us extra HD channels people from some areas might be affected negatively in that we will not receive a good signal until we call in one of the accredited installers to come and install a new dish and do some adjustments. WHAT??? Please explain to me how a decision that your company makes to introduce more HD channels must now effect me the innocent patron/consumer. We are already paying such exhorbitant fees for a service which on numerous occasions is questionable and now to be put through this. If Multi choice was bearing the cost of this (which they should) considering this has been caused by them---the least they should do is bare the cost as how on earth can they just assume that we all have money to pay these installers. Firstly the consumers and effected people have not even been consulted or informed and I think that this is so unethical, unfair and an exploitation of innocent peoples rights
