Lost and Found Goods

We stayed at the Carnival Hotel on 26th April and forgot our charger and plug in the room. We contacted the hotel when we got home and they said they took it to the lost/found booth. We went there one night after dinner and they looked for the goods for about 20 minutes and told us to come back the next day before 4 as the goods are locked away and they don't have the key. We spoke to Lucas. I have been there twice and still no luck with our goods. We have now given up but in the end it still remains our property and it is purely out of principle now that I WANT it back. Who is responsible for this?
