POOR SERVICE: ALETTING

Dear Hello Peter

Aletting in Wellington is the worst rental estate agency I have ever dealt with. They refuse to pay back my deposit, because I apparently needed to give 2 months notice.

When I entered into an agreement with them I specifically specified that I would only be renting the flat for 6 months and even has to supply them with a letter/confirmation from my employer stating I was employed for 6 months.

Before I moved in no inspection was done with me of the place, if I contacted my agent I waited a couple of days for a reply and just poor service all a long.

They contacted both me and my mother beginning of January (my contract expired end of January) and emailed me the new contract I let them know via email and my mom spoke to Mia telephonically and said that I will not be extending my contract.

After that we had a issue getting the key to them because no agent was willing to meet me after hours...

When I started to enquire about the deposit I was referred from one agent to the next and the owner and no one could give me an answer. Finally 3 weeks after that I just received an email saying they are keeping the deposit because I had to give 2 months notice..
