Deposit not Refunded

We've rented a property for a year at 4max. Thank Goodness we decided not to renew the contract. We've done the exit inspection, as required by them, on 24June13. According to the contract we signed, our deposit of R6400 will be refunded within 14 working days after the exit inspection has been completed. Today is day 14, and if I didn't follow up, nothing would've happened regarding my deposit. The lady Cheryl just said she would find out and let me know. But what if I didn't send the mail, then they probably wouldn't have refunded me. I find this totally unacceptable. If need be I will find their address and go and sit in their office until they've refunded me. They are quick to phone you and tell you you didn't pay or even charge you an additional of R100 because you used the wrong ref nr??? But it seems the contract is only valid for us, not for them. Once we don't pay in time, we are in breach of our contract, but when they don't refund you, it is not breach of contract. Wonder how that works??? I will never rent from them again, nor will I refer anyone to them. Instead, i will tell everyone I know not to rent from them.
