Another " Den" Estate Management Agency

Over a year ago we took rental of a flat in Hout Bay, managed by Monarc Developments. Many issues were promised, on paper, to be sorted out by them. This included dirty, wet and smelly carpets. Nothing was done for over 6 months, very many attempts were made to get them in. Eventually we gave up, started fixing the issues ourselves, at our expense. This included multiple attempts to sort the carpets with at least 4 professional cleans. And 3 personal attempts.

Chorus letting took over after said 6 months. From the beginning it was apparent we were in for trouble. For example, loosing track of our first months rent to them, for a week.
Long story short: due to mismanagement and lack of proper plot transfer procedures. Chorus did not check that the previous owners had animals that damaged the flat and had multiple complaints against them for it, and is now pinning the carpet issue on us and our two cats. Cats whom have never, and would have never urinated on the carpets. And looking to take our deposit for new carpets. Chorus is turning out to be just another estate agency that looks for any excuse to take peoples money. Be weary when dealing with them. There is much more I can say
