Lack of maintainance on vacant stands in Emdeni 2

Transnet as an agency of Government has abdicated its responsibilities by not maintaining their vacant stands for quite sometime in Emdeni EXT2. They have cleaned the stands once in 8 years and that was last year after i had been to their offices and called them on numerous occassions. My concern regarding these vacant stands is that they serve as activation points for criminals. Trees on these stands grow as high as 5 to 6 meters. I also consider them to be a health hazard due to the fact that they have now been turned into dumping sites. The turn around time from Transnet with regards to issues of maintainance of these vacant stand is rediculous to say the least!

I just feel that they should own up to their responsibilities. We are paying bonds for houses we dont stay comfortable in because of the vacant stands. And unfortunately i am directly affected by this situation. Even if one was thinking of selling i wouldnt get anything out of the sale because the value of the house might be a bit low due to these unmaintained stands.
