Decline of warranty claim

I recently participated in the Transkaroo Endurance Cycle Race. 60/70 kms from the end the bearing on my Specialized S-Works bicycle failed. On the opinion of the marshalss I continued and completed the race. The next week I took it to Bridge Cycles, an accredited Specialized supplier/repairer not thinking that it might be a warranty claim. Their technician dismantled the front wheel bearing and replaced same with new bearings. On spinning the wheel he noticed that there was a bulge in the front hub. I then removed the wheel from there and tried other suppliers for a hub replacement. A friend suggested that I take the wheel to Cycles Direct because of the good service they give. I spoke to a Michael who then said it was a warranty claim and I filled in the papers. Today he informs me that my claim has been denied in that the bulge was due to the previous technician working on it. I could not see how this could be so as I was present when he took the bearings out and anyway they are accredited service agents. There is they claim some doubt as to how the damage came about. Well I have numerous witnesses who were concerned about my failing bearing. I can provide them to verify this.
