Volvo
Incompetent and poor service

Cars & Transport

I took my Volvo in to replace a wheel bearing. On fetching the car after the work was completed I heard a knocking noise when turning the steering. Took the car back to Volvo Midrand and the diagnosis was that the shocks and mountings were causing the noise not the wheel bearing. Replaced the shocks and mountings and the noise was still there. Checked at different dealerships, Volvo Pretoria (CMH) then added that I need to replace the control arms. Finally one mechanic informed me that it is the wheel bearing that was replaced. Took vehicle back to Volvo Midrand, different technician diagnosed the replaced wheel bearing to be faulty. Two weeks later, without one phone call from the dealership as to when they will be able to repair the vehicle, I finally got the wheel bearing replaced and the noise is finally gone. After much trauma, unnecessary expenses and frustration the problem has been resolved. Who should pay for the unnecessary expenses incurred?
