Obsolete/Broken Trainer and Bike

Recently I got an old static trainer and a bike (with only one back wheel) from a friend. I decided to take this bike, along with the trainer to Bruce Reyneke to see if something can still be done to fix either the trainer and/or the bike.

After a week, I got a call from them saying the bike is fixed completely. I was so surprised and asked them if it works 100% now and they said that the bike is in perfect condition and the trainer is a bit outdated, but its working fine.

I went to pick up the bike and took it home to test it. The bike is in horrible shape, the static trainer is COMPLETELY obsolete and the ONLY use it has now is to stand around as junk. I have to spend about R8000 to buy a new trainer, but then I have an ancient bike that was 'fixed', so I will be forced to get a new bike as well.

As I do not know they were thinking and since they have demonstrated astronomical levels of critical thinking, I paid close to one thousand rand for a piece of junk. Oh yes, and I didn't even receive a quote.
