We are very disappointed with the service we received at Starlin's Taxidermy. We are pensioners and have to save up for months to purchase something we really want. My husband had Kudu horns which he wanted mounted for display at our home. My husband saved up all his spending money and asked for a quotation on 03/07/2012. He said that he would do it for R2000.00 and a case of beer if we paid up front for the Kudu, which we did. The agreement was that he would supply the skin and necessary parts and we will supply the horns. All he gave us the Quote, which we thought was a receipt, for the R2000.00 when we paid him. After today's incident we realized it was only a quote which he deceivingly gave us and not an Invoice or receipt. He said that the Kudu would be ready in 6 weeks.
After numerous calls we went to collect the Kudu and he hands over an Invoice similar to ours, but handwritten on the Quote that he only received R1000.00 and that we have to pay another R1000.00. He wrote this only on his own copy and this was never done in front of us as we gave him R2000.00 and not only a R1000.00. The skin on the Kudu is in bad condition and seems to have mange.
