This is too much for a quote!!!

I took my car to the business asking for a quote to have the aircon control unit repaired after it was established via a sophisticated computer system that it was faulty. They were very willing to assist but I had to leave the car there and the would call me back in max 2 days. After numerous phone calls to them trying to get the amount of the quote and 8 days later I went to fetch the car. To my shock I had to pay R3342.42 if I wanted my car back. They claim to have done work on it but I fail to see what as nothing works and all I wanted is a quote!!! This is like with violence!!!
