Audi South Africa
False accusation for reason for repairs

Miscellaneous

We are being falsely accused for being the reason why our Audi's clutch plate must be replaced. The vehicle is still under warranty and this repair is covered under the warranty. This specific vehicle was purchased 5 months ago and is a 2012 model which had /- 72000 km on the clock. On Saturday the 25th of January the car broke down due to clutch failure. After investigation Audi head office refuse to repair the car under the warranty as they claim the car was driven hard and this is the reason for the breakage. My question: How can a person damage a clutch plate to such an extend that it must be replaced within 5 months of receiving the vehicle /- 12000 km later and after we travelled on the long road to Cape Town and back putting 4000km of the 12000km on the clock. Do they know if the previous owner driven the car properly. If the orevious owner who put 72000km's on the car actually did not drive the car hard... no, they don't!! This is ridiculous and not what one would expect from a respectable dealership such as Audi! The cost of R35000.00 for the replacement of the clutch plate will not be carried by us. Audi must keep to their warranty!!!
