Unable to explain e-toll charges

I have an e-toll account and an etag, which i always top up and can prove it. but now i receive a violations letter which has a list of all the charges. charges which are for a truck and i drive a Yaris! i call their violations centre and suddenly i owe over R1000. i ask the person i got through to and he couldn't even tell me what these charges are fro and why they were so high. then he proceeds to tell me that i can go to a service centre and i should bring an affidavit. REALLY??? why cant these charges be explained?
