As a Pretoria resident I have not bought an etag but I am willing to pay the toll on receipt of a correct account. I used the Ben Schoeman on the 12th of December and did not receive any account from Sanral. In stead, I received a threatening email from them on the 19th of December for R50.49 (i.e. on day 7) saying I am in violation and it is a criminal offence not to pay. I have received another email from them for an amount of R101.67 on the 6th of January. I have been on leave and have not used the toll road at all since 12/12/13. I called them to ask for detailed accounts for these so-called violations. They could only confirm that violations exist but could not give me details or dates, but referred me to their website. There is a place where you are supposed to be able to view the details but all routes ask you to log in to the system using your user ID and PIN. I do not have a PIN as I am not registered so it is a catch 22.
Sanral are BULLIES, threatening road users without even letting them know what about. Shame on you!
